Anneke had landed one of her biggest deals yet - a breeder's agreement with the ranger headquarters in Goldenrod. She was due to meet a liaison for the agreement and discuss any terms and conditions they might have towards the whole purchasing of eggs and pokemon, so here she sat as she stared out the window in a small-town restaurant, waiting for the other person to arrive.
Her fingers rapped slowly on the menu as she waited, taking a couple of gentle sips of water every so often to keep her palette quenched. It seemed rather dry today. Either there were a lot of pokemon in the area using fire and electric moves, or there was going to be a drought soon in the area. Either way, she was becoming increasingly bored with just waiting.
After ten minutes past the arrival time - or maybe her watch was just ahead - she stood up and strolled around the little restaurant, taking a look at the little fish tank they had set up along the entrance wall. It had a couple of tropic deep-sea fish, so the tank was tinted slightly so that less sunlight would get in, but people could still see their beautiful colours swimming around the tank.
Smiling, she reached out and touched the glass, but didn't tap, not wanting to disturb the little ones. They seemed pretty happy and well-fed. One even crept up to the tank's edge to stare at the little meaty lump pressed against the side of his home.
"Hello there, little one." She whispered, before jumping slightly as the door opened beside her. She slipped out of the way to let someone in, heart racing at the sudden commotion. "H-hello!" She said quickly, awkwardly. Ugh. Was this even the person she was supposed to meet? She mentally kicked herself.

[attr="class","fy-text"]Jurisdiction changed once more. From the technological advancement communicator, The Phantom received a message from Headquarters of a deal. His only excuse would be the fact he's in the middle of the Dark Cave on Route 31, an ongoing battle with dark and ground type pokémons restlessly on the pursuit to take him out and away. Bellows and shouts, a pass on paper for him to return to the entrance. Tch, a click of his tongue in disapproval, the Phantom walked and climbed his back to the entrance, where his communication device sounded off at an instant.
A show of a colleague's mug, he took a moment to listen to the objective. You will be handling the signing of a breeder offering her assistance to us. She will be at Cherry Grove City - You're the only one nearest to the city -- the man cut short to laugh at Severus. You look horrible. A wipe of a single tear from his face, he continued on. This only lasted for what appeared to be a few minutes, ten or thirteen, around the numbers.
A meeting, huh? A look to his own clothes, features as already a given at the reflection of the phone. Severus concluded. I look like shit.
Tardy, for only ten minutes. Cleanliness is a trait not suitable for the man as he found his business attire and tied his hair into a small ponytail. What restaurant was it? The one with the sea breeze so close or the flowers out in the opening?
A quick check to his phone, he stopped in front of the restaurant. Adjusting his jacket and the red ribbon. Deep breath, the man entered.
The air of the restaurant was eloquent, as if it could be mistaken for a finishing school. However, as the door opened a young looking woman jumped from fright.
Long strawberry pink hair and doting pale aqua eyes. Her hello came to a stutter. "Hello" he nodded to her. "Are you by chance Ms Ruska the Breeder who has offered the Ranger's assistance?
I apologise for the lateness, I was on an earlier assignment not too long ago in the Dark Caves of Route Thirty-One." His amber eyes settled on the contours of her lips and then to her eyes a hand held out to her for the formal greeting.
Anneke stared at the man who had walked in. He looked a lot more formal than she would have thought for a ranger, perhaps he took his meetings more seriously than the one she had met in uniform to propose the deal to. She stared for a few awkward seconds, before glancing to his hand and taking it firmly in her own, shaking it.
"Yes, I am. Sorry." She bit her lip and straightened out, tucking her hands behind her back to observe him carefully. He explained why he was late, which was acceptable no matter the cause - she had only been bored - she probably would have waited even longer for less of a reasonable excuse.
After a couple more seconds of her nodding and listening to his reasoning, she pulled her hands out from behind her back and motioned to the table she had been sitting at earlier, which was already set for dinner, only missing the actual food. There was water and a bottle of champagne, as well as place settings for the meal.
"We're seated over here. The rangers already pre-paid, so, whenever you're ready." She moved away from him and went to sit, tucking herself into the seat and pulling herself closer to the table with a soft tchhh of the chair scraping on the floor.
"I brought my half of the paperwork. I imagine that someone will review it and make sure that everything is up-to-date." Anneke pulled some papers from her messenger back and placed them gently on the table, putting a firm hand on top of it. "I appreciate the generosity of the deal." She mumbled quietly, almost like she was embarrassed.
"It means a lot to my family." She finished, before leaning back in her seat. "Please make sure they make it there safely."

[attr="class","fy-text"]He felt her gaze on him. It's flattering to be looked upon -- it's also unnecessary since their meeting is all business. A firm handshake, he could not help but notice the slender fingers. For a breeder, he would have thought their hands would be calloused with the hard work they have done. The warmth was short-lived. And with their handshake, she apologised. He waved it dismissively, there's nothing to apologise for.
As soon as she moved he followed right behind and took a seat. He pulled himself close to the table and placed his hands on the table closed together. Ambers eyes towards the papers stacked neatly. What words followed came from what he was supposed to say, instead, he said otherwise. "Ah, yes, I'm positive you have the paper work up to date, we rarely change any rules when it comes to breeders who are willing to aid us." It's generosity and right to thank the person who are offering to help. With such words said, he then took the papers and placed them neatly to the side. "I will make sure they will make it to the office as soon as possible. I -- We appreciate your generosity into aiding us."
All for the family and none for the personal. Severus' features began to relax as he thought about his own family. Two older brothers long distant now, with their lives already paved out. They were married -- the oldest has two children and works as a postal service and the second eldest has a child along the way while working with his lover in carpentry. Which has left the youngest child of the Dane family to be off. Who to sweep off his feet or his to the special other?
A thin smile on his lips, he nodded. "Well, with the business aside, I guess we should enjoy dinner, shall I take out the champagne for the hallelujah?" The man wanted to make this as comfortable as possible. If business has been set aside, he could only think of dinner talk. Hand over to the champagne bottle, he aimed the top away from the two and towards a wall, in hopes to bounce it off. "Cheers if this does not hit someone in the eye."
An open of the champagne bottle, the rubber popped and bounced. Ricochet from the ceiling to the ground in a matter of seconds. As it landed on the ground, he took out the champagne glasses and poured in a helping of the alcohol. Severus knew if he drank too much liquor his senses would become numb and he would would feel jaded even more. Setting the champagne back down in the bucket, he handed a glass o Anneke. "I'm not much for words, but, I'm glad this has gone well."
Anneke felt her mouth curl into a relieved smile when Severus - the man she was apparently wining and dining tonight - assured her that the papers would make their way into the right hands, and that everything would be fine in terms of her contract. Nodding, she folded her hands in front of herself and smiled a little more when he suggested opening the champagne.
It was a cause for celebration, was it not? Her grandparents would be able to keep the farm, and Anneke could keep doing what she loved, rather than - eugh - going out and having to actually deal with people on a day-to-day basis. A little champagne wouldn't hurt to celebrate.
She graciously accepted the flute that was handed to her and took a delicate, refined sip, the liquid slipping over her palette and swishing between her teeth and lips, before slowly swallowing it after the full savour. It was a nice blend. The bubbles weren't too fizzy, and it wasn't too dry like she found some champagnes to be.
"Lovely." She licked her lips and placed the champagne glass down, before glancing over to the kitchen area. They looked like they were already set ahead on making the first part of the prix fixe menu, so Anneke just leaned back slightly, not slouching, but sitting up perfectly straight. She smoothed her fingers over her handkerchief on the table before folding it over her lap.
"So, how long have you been a ranger, Mr. Dane?" She asked carefully, her head tilting slightly as she watched him with wide, blue eyes. "It seems as though they trust you with important documents, so that must mean a little while..?"
