| 349 WORDS @open TAGGED TEAM | The music was pounding - inside, outside, in between Madcap's ears, drowning out any comprehensible thought that Mad could even think of. Perhaps Goldenrod city wasn't the best place to start causing trouble - the police headquarters was centered in the city for fuck's sake - but that was Madcap. Too eager to think ahead, too happy to throw themselves headfirst into trouble without thinking of the repercussions.
The music of the smaller club echoed in the alleyway that Madcap was hiding in, and Madcap could hear the thud of the bass echoing through the dumpster they were currently hiding in. Cool, yeah cool - everything was completely and totally under control.
Madcap could blame a series of bright lights, over-eager fingers and their own rusty pickpocket skills for the trouble she was currently in and the split bloody lip that filled her mouth with the taste of salt.
Madcap wasn't sneaky - too loud, too abrasive. But she had seen loose coins, loose wallets and reacted. The first wallet was easy, a slip of the hand and suddenly, Madcap was just a bit richer. Cool, rad - should have walked away. But Madcap - no, Madcap had to be the best or die trying - which lead to attempt number two spiralling out of control - nearly breaking her fingers and no amount of sheepish smiles could stop the fist that connected her own teeth to her lip. Maybe it was a ring actually? Madcap hadn't been focusing on the guy's accessory choices.
While Madcap was a terrible pickpocket, she very excellent at causing a scene and then promptly disappearing from it. She had fled down the alleyway, promptly throwing her body into an open dumpster and closing the lid with a heavy thud and then being silent - hands clenched together in a desperate prayer. Yeah, cool - everything was cool. Madcap - daredevil, thief, prankster, rocket grunt and now Madcap could have the honor of adding dumpster diver to the lengthy list of occupations.
She paused, footsteps heart outside said dumpster and the trainer couldn't help but lift the dumpster lid quietly - eyes peering out into the night.
